What are POP’s?

POP’s – or Persistent Organic Pollutants are toxic chemicals that adversely affect human health and the environment around the world. Because they can be transported by wind and water, most POPs generated in one country can and do affect people and wildlife far from where they are used and released. As per government legislation, if just one single item of POP’s waste is mixed in with any other type of waste, you must treat the whole load of POP’s waste. This is why it’s important to dispose of your waste correctly. This is why we can’t POP’s items in your general waste skip.

Can I use greedy boards in my skip?

Unfortunately, the answer is no, you cannot use greedy boards. Our skips have a clearly marked ‘level fill only’ line. You must ensure that your waste doesn’t exceed this line, this is there to ensure that we can safely and legally transport your skip back to our waste management facility before we start the process of sorting your recyclable materials. If our driver comes to collect your skip and you have overfilled your skip, we will ask you to remove the excess waste before we can remove the skip from your premises.
