What can I put in my general waste skip?

Small appliances such as toasters and kettles

Question 3

What items are prohibited in my general waste skip?

Answer

Asbestos (This one is a given!)
POP’s waste - sofas, sofa bed’s, armchairs, recliner chairs, kitchen and dining room chairs, garden furniture, stools and foot stools, office chairs, futons, bean bags, floor and sofa cushions, and any part made of or containing leather, synthetic leather, other fabric, or foam.
Electrical equipment or WEEE waste (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) - These can also contain POP’s
Mattresses
Medical Waste
Carpet
Sharps
Tyres
Plasterboard
Foam filled items such as cushions, dog beds etc
Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
Batteries – this includes old hoover batteries and disposable vapes
Paint, fuel and solvents

What size skips do you have?

Answer

We have the following sizes:- 4 cuyd, 6 cuyd and 8 cuyd. We do have larger 16 cuyd, 20 cuyd and 40 cuyd RoRo available for commercial and large projects. Call the office for more details.

Question 5

Where can skips be dropped?

Answer

Skips can be dropped on a private property (Your drive or garden). Permits are required for Public highway locations such as Roads, verge and pavements. We apply for the permits on your behalf. It can take 2 to 3 days to get the permit and there is an additional cost, dependant on the local council. Skips can also be dropped at business, offices or factories.

Can the skip go on my drive?

Answer

Yes. If you can get a car on we usually can get a skip on although we might not be able to get all the way down the drive. Most drives are ok, our lorries can be heavy through. We do not accept liability for damage when delivering a skip.

Question 7

Can the skip go on the road?

Answer

Yes but you will need a permit for a skip on public land which is the public highway (Highways, Pavements or Grass Verge), there is an additional charge for this and can take an additional 2 or 3 days to secure.

Question 8

Do I need permission from the council to place a skip on the road?

Answer

Yes, it is called a permit and is issued by the local council, who charge for it. We will arrange the permit and it can take 2 to 3 days to get the permit.

Question 9

What is the biggest skip I can use?

Answer

The largest we can place on the road is a 8 cuyd, and this is suitable for most jobs. We do have larger skips and RoRos. If you need anything larger then please contact the office.

Question 10

How long can I keep my skip for?

Answer

Normal bookings are 14 days but we can do longer if required. When booking online just tick the relevant box.

Question 11

How much notice do I need to get a skip?

Answer

We aim for 48 hours notice (provided a permit it not required).

Question 12

I am finished with my skip, when can you collect?

Answer

Just give us a call and we will schedule a driver to collect, we aim for 24 hours.
